Will be a great shame if it does.I,ve been to many events there, birthdays, wedding receptions etc as i,m sure many of us have over the years, its always been a good place to hire as the prices are reasonable, its got a decent size bar,its own disco if needed, plenty of room and car parking.I,ve had some great times there,i,ll be sorry to see it go,hope its nothing more than a rumour.

From what I gather it was people mixing up the Railway Club and the Railway Bell which has closed.

I always thought the railway bell had regular custom, but obviously not enough for it to continue , appeared a nice pub .

Brewery owned. Landlords could never make it profitable enough with brewery refusing to invest anything into updating of fixtures etc. Was always well attended and a popular venue, a sad loss to the district.

Wetherspoons want to extend the Eight Bells to New Street taking over the old night club building, which will mean one less eyesore in the town at least.
