It's not all doom and gloom businesses such as Nandos, Bella Italia, Frankie and Benny's, Next, some shoe shop(forgotten the name), Trespass and the new gym are all new to Dover with the 6 screen cinema set to bring people into town.

The problem is Howard, that we are looking at a plan which first saw the light of day in 1997, almost twenty years ago, and more importantly a year before Amazon UK launched, before everyone and his dog was offering free deliveries if you spend over twenty pounds, Netflix/Amazon prime were streaming new movies and Brighthouse was offering flat TV screens for poor people the size of many cinema screens of old .
The world has moved on, and as ever, Dover is trying to play catch-up, while retail has changed with the data revolution and is about to change far beyond our present councillors' imaginings, never mind those of councillors two decades ago.
"We are living in very strange times, and they are likely to get a lot stranger before we bottom out"

If I have got the correct part of the DTIZ/St James development Townwall Street, within reason it does not really matter what goes along that area as it is not exactly a beautiful stretch of road and that is better than graffiti covered hoardings.

Thank you for posting this Jan. It's exciting to see it from a different angle. I have a daily view of the site and I must say, now work has finally started I enjoy watching the process. I was away for a week recently and couldn't wait to get to the window once I was back, eager to see how much progress had been made. I only hope I'm still around to visit once it's finished!

A further moving aerial view of the St. James development taken on 17 March 2017. Good view of the large boomed crane working on the cinema complex. The outline of the M&S plot can be seen as well as the steelwork progress on Block A ( along Townwall Street) between the Travelodge and M&S.

As it seems no construction company in the land is willing to get involved it would be interesting to know if Legal & General are paying Bond City directly.

Does it really matter? The important thing is it's finally getting built and we can all now see that happening.

The Spring Equinox sees further progress in steelwork erection along Townwall Street (St James - Block A) as they work towards the M&S end, as well as work continuing on the Travelodge and Cinema complex.

I believe it is staying.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car had a planning application granted for illuminated signs and a 'totem pole' in January this year.
There have been persons on site periodically cleaning the site and some looking around the layout. An earlier application shows rental vehicle spaces, car wash and an Office. Also droppable bollards at present entrance and exit points.
So it looks very much like a car rental business will open up there.

Ok.
Enterprise were near the hoverport and now at the roundabout on the A20 that led to the hoverport. Presumably they're moving from there.

Enterprise and eurocar where sharing a trading alliance but fell out, so they moved to the current temporary location.

Are all the underground fuel tanks going to stay on site too?
