Must have been some storm that I slept through last night, the back garden covered in moss from the roof and recycling boxes at the wrong end of the garden.

Can't remember seeing a butterfly yet this summer, normally they are fairly active by now.

The weed sprayers have been out in my part of town, must be using something stronger than usual judging by the state of the roadside vegetation.

Rain has now arrived saving me the problem of carting washing up water outside to use on the garden, supposed to last most of the night and tomorrow.

Thank goodness that bit of drizzle is not all we are supposed to be getting, my water butt is virtually empty.

Walking along Dour Street this morning was a real pleasure with so many well kept and colourful front gardens. Every year from about this time it is so noticeable that the residents make a great effort.

Sitting out in the sun this afternoon I was surprised how many birds visited and stayed if I didn't make any sudden movements.

Good to feed the little birds but gulls and ducks not to be encouraged. The mess they leave behind not nice.Seagulls were attacking my son in laws car when he was here recently.Notning worse for a car .Sadly rats also like feeding .

There is nothing wrong in feeding the ducks so long as the food is suitable, not bread according to the wildlife experts.
I would love them to arrive in my garden having kept and bred ducks in the past, at least they do not attack and s**t on you like the gulls.
