we do need rain and lots of it or their will be water rationing again when the real good weather gets hear. The gardens need it now, being on the meter and a O.AP it is hard to keep finding the funds to water it four or five times a week
Then there is the car to clean ,but with that now I use that waterless wax very good ,and no mess.Goodnight or morning, when you up and down all the time it does not matter day or night,

The garden fork finally broke through early afternoon after the ground got a good soaking. Will plant Summer bulbs tomorrow.

All went well today stayed dry until had removed the last of the Spring bulbs and planted Summer ones. As soon as I had finished light rain fell and is predicted to continue tomorrow, not often that everything falls into place.

I am out in the garden today and trying to roll the lawns but finding it to much now ,will have to find some one to do it.
If it was not for my legs I think I could do it still.

Nice to see the rain steadily coming down this evening, my Peony has finally come into bloom about two weeks later than it normally does.

Peonies though late are particularly good this year, hope the rain doesn't cause it too much trouble.

My one doesn't last much longer than a week or so normally, the wind takes the flowers because of the exposed position.
Love these poppies growing out of the front wall of a house in the Folkestone Road, nature always finds a way.

Seeing more of these naturalisations now they are not spraying as much and when it is not interfering with drainage I'm all for it!

The rain has now settled in for an all nighter, then to return tomorrow afternoon which is great for the garden. A few Irises have now come into bloom and shoots from the Summer bulbs are starting to get taller with hopefully some sun once the rain finishes its work.

Finally got the grass cut today leaving the last metre or so at the bottom wild to attract various creatures as suggested by environmental groups. A lot of pressure groups want us to stop having lawns and say we should grow vegetables instead which sounds rather boring.
Irises in pots are in bloom but those in the ground have a fair way to go.

The vegetation in the streets is now getting out of hand with weeds two feet high growing out. I find it surprising that so many people don't deal with the weeds growing out of their front wall or fence, usually doesn't take too long for most houses.

I must say I do try at times to keep it clear but must say it is getting on top of me now.

My son on one of his visits from Oxfordshire the other day was saying how unkempt the town looked with all those weeds together with the rubbish and unkempt buildings.

A house in Maison Dieu Road either 26 or 62 - anyway just down from the "Louis Armstrong" on the same side has large pots of healthy looking mint plants outside, free to anyone that wants them.

Went past a short while back and a large assortment of plants in pots are up for grabs on a first come, first served basis.
