Top work, BW, as Packham would say. House sparrows are a red list bird now and, though they're noisy, tuneless LBJs, it'd be sad to see them decline any further.

Sounds good Vic. Upload a few pics so we can enjoy them too. We haven't seen your bunker for a while.....and whatever happened to your life story?

It’s amazing how resilient the garden is despite the continuing lack of rain in Sussex. I took these before 8am today.
The hanging baskets are grounded at present and in containers in order to conserve moisture and ensure survival!
I gave my fish away this year as it was becoming a chore that I could do without
and replaced it with a pebble/flower feature.
How it looked a while ago.....................

Great photos Bobby but I have concentrated my attention at studying the white grass in this heat.
Mind you watching the antics of our feathered friends dining alfresco has been fun, the simple things in life are still the most enjoyable.

That is extremely annoying (
). I much preferred Mr McS' post about mowing the straw - because that's what I'm left with. Oh, and ants.

The tomatoes are just beginning to ripen:
And the Plumbago is responding well to the tropical temperatures:
There feels like a change in the air as the wind is getting up.......oh for some rain for the garden,

A sign of the effects of the abnormal weather - I have gladioli starting to flower already. That must be well over a month early.

Every year I plant bulbs in the Spring and there is always one that flowers and I don't have a clue what it is.

My freesias are over and done with by now. What's odd is that the different groups flower at slightly different times

I bought 2 quite large hydrangeas in Lidl today. I'm hoping that a bit more rain will soften the ground enough to let me plant them.

It appears that Summer is just about coming to a close with more rain forecast but still have brown patches amongst my grass, normally after a long dry spell the green returns over it all.
