The point I was making is that gb last monday said that after the hammering the government received he would listen to the electorate, and respect their views. Instead we get pages and pages of blacked out items ,we don,t know what was on them, and i expect we never will. I appreciate that some bits have to be deleted like addresses and bank details, but that was taking it a bit far.As for local councilors they should also start to listen to the people that put them there and start doing what we want, not what they think we want.
Why are we so polite about it? This is a very British rebellion!!! The people in charge are totally mucking us about and stealing our money, and we are tutting and politely exchanging emails about it!!! A couple of hundred years ago there would have been heads on poles...................

Apparently the Telegraph will publish a supplement tomorrow printing the blacked out bits!
I might even break the habit of a lifetime and buy one!

Sounds like fun, Terry. I think I'll buy a Torygraph tomorrow too.
Agree with you Bern: these venal modern politicians, of all political hues, disgust me.

We get the politicians we deserve, they reflect our society. Sad but true.
You might, BarryW, I don't!!! I vote every time I can, I read and digest political information, I understand and discuss politics. It is seriously not my fault we get such a malformed, malodorous, malcontented lot of thieving d***heads as a government each time!!!

Not speaking as individuals Bern but as a society. The only reason there are two BNP MEPs is because so many could not be bothered to exercise their democratic duty.

they probaly did barry by voting bnp in the first place.they where probaly disalosiond labour/tory voters.
No, I have to agree with Barry - the only way extremists get in is by voter apathy, but they then crow and claim a bigger level of support than is in fact.

must disagree bern, the voter apathy still gave us a majority of the blue and red ones.
in my view apathy can be voting for one party all of one's life, much the same effect as not voting at all.
the majority of us will stick to blue and red and never change, hence the elected ones know that they can get up to whatever they like.
how many marginal constituencies are there?

i would take both comments with a pinch of salt keith.
are we to believe that the pm and pm in waiting only knew of the blanked out bits, when they picked up a newspaper?
i am not a conspiracy theorist type, but have great suspicions that the ruling classes are waiting for this to blow over
and us plebs stop asking impertinent questions.
if we let it happen, the people at westminster will find another way of milking us.

No I think this won't be allowed to blow over and people power will win
I still fear there are a number of MP's from the 3 parties thsat should be hauled before the courts, we wouldn't survive this long if we did some of the things they did.
ok those ones that did things within the rules(even tho some of those were close to fraud) then they will probably get away wiyth it but electorate can sort them
but those that clearly broke the rules should be sorted and now!!!! not wait for next election, or let threm stand down now.
people power i love it !!!
Given that they made, and then bent, the rules, I am unable to see how any of them can hold their heads up. Poison Dwarf Hazel Blears has made a big deal of a couple of her local people not stabbing her with blunt scalpels (sorry, "supporting her") but how deluded are these people?

I think this bit of people power could have a major affect on this subject.
Great to see people power

i was staggered to read about the council tax fiddle.
approx 50 miscreants involved.
i haven't read the full details, but one name stood out "david willetts"!!
is he really that hard up?
reminds me of a sketch years ago from spike milligan.
it was a dinner dance type of thing, then the mc said the minister will now give us an address.
spike then rises from the dinner table and s stack of cutlery falls out of his sleeve.
still makes me laugh now when i think about it.
