When last I looked Medusa's Den was still going strong at the bottom of Tower Hamlets and of course Pet's Arcadia by the town hall sell tropical fish. When I get a minute I'll do a feature on the new one for the LRCF website.

I think the Dover shops are ok.They all have their ups n downs like any towns and cities but i enjoy shopping in the town and try to support our shops whenever possible.

so do i, my day to day shopping is at asda or morrisons that are staffed by friendly people and if i fancy a snack on the hoof greigs and rooks are the places to go.
we are very well served in that way.

is there enough money locally to sustain another snack outlet?
i see many people during the day with hot drinks from costa coffee walking around so i would imagine their prices could be undercut.

Down stairs in the Charlton Centre will soon have all units open, new manager Peter is doing a great job.
Keep your eyes and ears open there are positive signs regarding the old Sainsbury shop talks have been going on for about two months.

I agree, Dover town centre has fared well all things considered. Every town centre has some empty shops and retailers were not lining up to make new investments during the recession. That has now changed, however, and the positive news on the St James's development demonstrates that big high street names are showing renewed interest in Dover.

crossed paths with neil wiggins earlier outside the charlton centre, the female members of his family were shopping in the excellent clothes shop at the front. we both agreed that with very few exceptions you can buy all the things you need in dover.
if the independents can't supply argos fill the gap, they may be a vast national chain but the staff are all local.

this scaffolding has been up for a couple of weeks or so, just wondering whether it is for general maintenance or repairing storm damage.

noticed earlier that casey's bakery has moved into the unit previously occupied by the greengrocers/bakers in the charlton centre. all inside units now filled.
i seem to remember they were previously going to operate from "amina's".
