I read it is being run by a couple of their ex-butchers, Taylors wished them luck so an amicable departure.

Taylor's had said before that Dover was their worst performing shop due to low footfall, maybe the two who have taken over will hope to sell the same amount but with fewer staff, good luck to them anyway.

Last time I was in Fenwicks I looked in the section that sold my favourite brand of shirt - £80 - £90!!
Designer outlet in Ashford £20 - £30, I think a lot of Fenwicks customers rather like to be seen with the bag in much the same way people would buy the cheapest thing in Harrods for the same reason.

I was stunned to see that Fenwicks were selling Barbour jackets for sodding dogs! There was silly old me thinking that evolution had made them fairly weatherproof.

That looks like the sort of purchase that our wonderful LoveDover group of entrepreneurs
should go for but I doubt they will.

#1823 If you check their accounts, they have no revenue stream and have done no further campaigning. It's hard to see how they could even consider such an investment now without further borrowing.

That was why I used the wink emoji.

"Legal Costs
The tenant is to contribute to the landlord's legal fees."...
This could be the deal breaker along with whatever the new rates will be if they are too high, although I hope not

It is standard practice for the tenant to pay the landlord's legal fees in commercial lets.

#1830 Not in my experience Judith. Normally both sides meet their own legal expenses at the inception of a lease contract. Hence why it’s been mentioned in the details as it’s slightly unusual.

It was for a long time the norm but is becoming less common, certainly not unusual by any means though.
