All the more reason for me to be spending Valentine's Day in London!

You'd be hard-pressed to force a train ticket between that declaration and virtue-signalling.

Not exactly town centre, but the Snargate Street garage is now a Co-Op rather than a Spar.

Their long term plan is to close down their big stores and concentrate on convenience shops where the future seems to lie.

That cracked me up, His Holiness the Mayor of Deal commands the Chief Executive of M & S to prostrate himself in front of the town council and explain why he has been such a naughty boy!!
Sniffer never resorted to tactics like that.

Howard;
Since being elected to DTC I have been banging on about if DTC is consulted then they should form a DTC view on that subject.
Often consultation is received and not even responded to.
A good example of this is the boundary changes proposed for DDC.
I raised at DTC that they should form a view and was told by a labour Cllr that DTC won't be affected.
The wards are to change so you wouldn't have elections for DDC and DTC that were different.
But quite incredibly the view of the labour Cllr was accepted.
Here we are now as I predicted the DTC wards also changed to fit in with the DDC boundary changes.
but without any views from DTC
I still believe if we are consulted we should give a view

Doesn't suprise me at all. DDC have spent years promoting Dover as the primary investment location for the district, so I expect more companies will take note and move out of Deal.

We are not going to turn the clock back When we got our own Parish Council in 1987.River was separated from Dover and River became its own ward .I was never a charter trustee,I became a Councillor in 1987.

If we had not gone with Temple Ewell.Lydden and Wooten the suggestion was to go with Capel.Dover was not on the cards .

The boundary changes ripped apart the priory ward, did little to enhance the area
did little to get better Cllr representation in fact it has made it worse
to much political party influence looking after there own wards
the boundary commission agreed I had a strong case in my submission but they would have to change other wards to keep priory
so again,, ,,,priory is the loser
