He tried to get them to change the rules banning members with EDF associations, but the NEC deferred until after brexit!

Sadly the man (Yaxley) is too thick to realise he's only being used as a recruitment tool.

Partially correct Reg, but just for clarity, the request by Gerard Batten to the UKIP NEC was not to change the rules as such for all members of the EDL, but to accept Robinson as a singular “one off”.
But I think I know what you meant, probably like you and Ray both knew what I meant in my previous post!

'Robinson' is a self-publicising idiot with previous convictions for assault, drugs offences, public order offences, using a false passport, mortgage fraud and whose recent actions put a gang-rape trial in jeopardy. The man is an arsehole.

I wonder what drivel the PM will come out with in the Commons shortly, until early afternoon we were told that the vote was set in stone for tomorrow. She has very little support from her own party and doesn't seem concerned because she lives in her own world.

I realised that Brian but I wanted to hear the reason/s she would give. No great surprise that the usual dull robotic stuff was trotted out and no suggestion if and when the vote would actually happen.

Why bother to hold a vote that you know you can not win, the time would be better spent trying to sort out the mess we are now in.

The way things are going I wonder if we will every leave the EU in my lifetime, I am totally fed up with the whole thing.
Politicians happily arguing and ignoring what the majority of the public wanted from the referendum, that was to leave not to have one foot in and one foot out which seems to be the proposed agreement.

All the talk seems to be about this "back stop" issue but no mention of fishing rights in the deal as far as I am aware and Macron seems to think his fisherpersons can carry on as they are now.

UKIP going on an election footing as it looks more and more like the leaving date will be put back.
Mr Batten said,
"I hate to say it but the likelihood of Britain taking part in the next European Parliamentary Elections in May 2019 is increasing. Until very recently I would have put the chances of that happening at 99.9% against. "However, we have now seen the Prime Minister postpone the vote on her Withdrawal ‘deal’ in the House of Commons, and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) ruled that the UK can unilaterally revoke Article 50 and end the leaving process.
"The Remainers in Parliament have been handed a solution to their problem on a plate by the CJEU. Will they take it? "The Withdrawal Act says that we leave the EU on 29th March 2019 but the leaving date can be subject to amendment, i.e. the date can be put back. "The chances of the UK taking part in the 2019 European Parliamentary Elections are rising sharply, and UKIP has to be ready for that possibility."
In his message, Mr Batten went on to call on members to apply for candidacy for a future European Election and to begin fundraising, noting that the "most important quality that we require from our candidates is a proven track record of loyalty to UKIP and its cause of national independence."
Commenting on his message to members, the UKIP Leader said, "If the UK does take part in the next European Parliamentary Elections then UKIP will fight these on the basis of continuing the fight for a unilateral and unconditional exit from the EU."
