Paid for by whom? Missed out on legal aid and apparently borrowed £100,000 from wife (as one does) to pay for recent trial.
(BTW where's she got a spare £100g from?)

I noticed this little inconsistency in the KM Report:
His defence counsel, Ian Winter QC, this morning told the judge: "He has totally disgraced himself. He has lost an extremely successful career and his wife... His conduct has resulted in his 13-year-old son being bullied and the bullies telling him his dad is a rapist.
"He completely accepts what he has done and demonstrated remorse. He is a carer for his 13-year-old son. He did not reoffend for nine years. He took advantage of a situation and foolishly lost his head over a young woman."
with
Following the conclusion of the case a spokesman for Elphicke confirmed he would appeal against the sentence, adding he was: "Innocent of any criminal wrongdoing”.
Perhaps he is going to rely on the freshly minted "Specific and limited way" defence?

Not a member of the local party apparently.
See #1,032.

They will both share £400,000 equity from the sale of their £1.4 million (if they get asking price) St Margaret's property. Charlie then needs to pay £100,000 back to Natalie and £35,000 legal bills.
Considering the property was bought for £875,000 - how big was the mortgage loan they took out?

That would be the new MP who has gone on public record to say she fully supports the appeal against CONVICTION - that is to say he did not commit a criminal offence x3 and that in any event the sentence is excessive .... that MP right?
This is not going to be wished away. Should have distanced herself and moved on. Now she is tied to the next part of the saga

I do agree with Ray and Sardine
The present MP should have gone public and disowned him
By carrying on supporting him will send out all the wrong signals

I agree, you'd think as a judge she would have a better command of the English language wouldn't you?

Anyone who is blaming the women may want to read the sentencing remarks
The first woman (A) was the family's live-in nanny.
"She was a nanny who had worked for you for 6 months. She lived with your family
in the basement flat of your house. "
The second woman (B) was straight out university in her first job, again working for him:
"Counts 2 and 3 took place in 2016, 9 years later. B was 23 when she started working
for you. You were by this time an elected MP and held a position as a whip for the
Government of the day. B was bright, willing and capable. This was her first proper
job. "
I am not sure how they were supposed to avoid "getting into that situation"!
There is clearly a pattern of behaviour here of using a position of power for his own wants, regardless of what they might feel.

Jaw dropping article in the Mail from the missus.
Apparently Charlie was the victim because of his 'charming, wealthy, charismatic and successful' persona. Looks like she is sticking with him like glue.

I don’t know what is more jaw dropping - NE saying she accepts the verdict and now doing a complete u turn or Sue Nicholas comments.
Admin - suspend me if you will but I’ve just got to tell you Sue - you are a bigoted idiot. Men who are real men don’t treat women like this. We don’t subscribe to the theory she asked for it. We respect a women’s right to go about her life safe and secure.

As a middle age male manager not far off CE's age, I have had young female employees work with me eager to make a good impression in a new post and I can only guess that due to the power differential (rather than my saggy late 40s body) they have sometimes made (in my view) flirtatious remarks.
Call me weird but I do not then see that as licence to get them alone and make a lunge even if they have "led me on"
In this case, there is no evidence that they even "led him on"....the sexual acts in this case were, based on the evidence, very much premeditated and initiated by him.

You clearly live in a fantasy world on this one, Sue. Try judging the matter on its merits rather than through local party rose coloured spectacles.

All I can say to that is WOW!!!!!
Yes we can all change our minds regardless of our sex but not usually so fast on such an important subject. Her support now makes me wonder just how honest she has been in her original statements and actions.
A man can "try it on" but so do women if they fancy someone, all of us have our imperfections and that includes being blinkered.

I'm with you on this Sue and I don't think anyone else would have got a 2 year sentence. I hope Natalie does stay with him. Why throw it all away for what appears to be not much more than a bit of slap and tickle.
