You clearly didn't read, or failed to understand, the sentencing remarks made by
Mrs Justice Whipple.

A conviction of one's excellence won't hide the excellence of one's conviction.

I can’t help feeling that this thread has descended into an orgy of schadenfreude.

Hardly. More justice, and the refusal of some to accept it.

“I think the Labour Party is trying to victimise Cllr Frost.”
Best ever Charlie quote. Perhaps they might now team up together and bring a refreshing new insight into local politics. I'm sure there are some who would love it.

Was in middle of writing 'The Ballad of Elmley Jail' as it happens.
Difference between me and Charlie is many people thought I was 'slightly touched' whereas jury thought Charlie's victims were ...

I find Sue's comments astounding.
More so as a woman
Be fair sue you may have left Tories for whatever reason
But were a leading Tory for many years suddenly
So not sure why you want to distance yourself
As a woman I'm surprised of your support for Charlie
I think the judge and comments s that Charlie was predator that's serious .
I defended him to have a fair trial up until he told the court he lied
To everyone even his wife
And I'm still bemused that he had everything going for him
High wage
Job security as long as he wanted seat
But I met him a few times and have to say as an MP in public eye he was uncomfortable outside of his own party followers
Certainly not a people person
Let's hope he's forgotten and let's move on
Sadly it has affected a lot of people

Because I’m woman Keith I can make those comments .Keith I’m not bound to any political party .You need to read the story of Adam and Eve .There are always Eve.s In this world .Charlie was not accused of rape .Rape is a different story .Keith you need to read comments and understand them .

I like to read about local politics but as some of you know I was in it some years ago,do not know if I done any good by doing it or not, all I can add to that is I done my best. But would I start again it is a big no to that one, but I will read about it on the forum and that is all.

Sue
I have read the articles
Listened to the judges words....
Charlie's a predator
Lied to all
And to a lot of people he ONLY got two years
For some reason Sue you keep trying to distance yourself from a party you were a leading light in for many years and that part I'm bemused by
And of course every one can have an opinion
I would prefer though to listen to the judges comments with all the evidence

Ah yes. The old Adam and Eve defence.
Schoolboy error for Charles’ QC not to run with that.
Sue - I was wrong to call you an idiot. I should have said you were a clown.
Ps - Because I have a penis Sue I can make those comments.
As an aside I believe there is In fact an open file on a rape allegation as well. Funny that.

All I will add is you do not have to be a member of a party to support it, we all know Sue's political history so can draw our own conclusions.
I gave Charlie the benefit of innocent until proved guilty, but it was proved he was B stupid, surely we can all agree to that regardless of our political leanings.
Two years does seem a bit harsh after some of the sentences that get handed out for some extremely serious life changing crimes like those for injuring the police as seen on Police Zero.

Thanks for that, BW. I thought it was free verse. Much relieved I can give up the struggle and return to my Whitman.
