Interesting Sue! Our own Dover traffic supremo standing yet again? Who I well remember in the Yacht Club in his Olympic track suit (free) looking like a fat toddler in a baby-grow!
(And again, how much did DDC spend investing in the Olympic Legacy? -see my comments on here - you all feeling fitter yet)

Tks Button. Was not going to reveal before it was revealed. Boaz!
I despair that we are relying on the 'usual suspects' to make any change whatever locally.
A great shame. The Conservative Party ought to be better than these candidates?

The Conservative Party 'ought' to be at that stage of life when its ashes have been dumped into a bin and the written history of its long decline consigned to the bargain bucket in Smiths.

As the elections draw near I'm sure all the candidates will come out of the woodwork, the Tories have all the wards stitched up, so whilst the main opposition will put up , they won't get close to winning in this area.
Noticed the conservatives are first off the blocks attending a community on line meet, but let's see if this continues after May .
The main opposition even without the virus are not strong enough , or known well enough to take on the task , but we will see as the election looms nearer.
As a community association I have always welcomed any cllr to be involved in the community assoc
Some have taken it up others have declined , that's s choice thing, but as Sue knows if your not involved in the local area it's that much harder to win seats.
So for me there won't be any change in the seats by party .
I'm sure , closer to May they will all come out of the woodwork , it's the long term we look at, and will they make any difference

Over seventy getting too old .There is a time to retire. The paper work is horrendous these days .The county divisions are very large .Meetings at County Hall very structured .It takes time to adjust at county not like a town council.

Here's a quote for all you diehards. Might be a politics GCSE discussion question in 10 years time. No prizes for guessing whose words they are but, to my mind, they are unarguable.
'I feel the need to apologise for a party I was once very proud to be a member of. The Conservative Party has lost its moral compass, is run by people who lie as easily as they take breath & which is turning our great country into a dishonourable international laughing stock.'

I might add I was over seventy when I retired but I had learnt the ropes by then .I would not advise anyone over seventy going for a county seat at that age.Takes time to learn .
