Back on topic I've read all the leaflets of the main parties and find them all to be 'Mom and apple pie' blandness and it difficult to tell the difference between them.
Everyone cares for the environment, thinks the streets should be safer and supports education. No surprise there.
We are in the middle of a huge change with the onset of the digital world comparable to the Agricultural or Industrial revolutions with such as banking, employment, retail and transport to name but four changing faster than most of us realise.
Nobody but nobody seems to be looking to future proofing the district on any of this, the 'local plan' merely being an exercise in choosing which piece of farmland to colour in as 'much needed' housing.
Tempted to vote 'Workers Party of Britain' just for the LOL.
At least with the commies you get some sort of Ten Year Plan?

Just caught this from Labour.
They're going to un-invent the internet and tax anything that's successful into submission I think?
Brilliant!

btw, I thought that hairdressers were now open?

Here in Eythorne we have had not a single leaflet from any of the candidates except one for the PCC conservative candidate (whom I have never heard of).Presumably Labour think the villages hold no hope of many votes and the Tories take us for granted. I might vote Green this time. After all, I’ve got an electric car and I want more places I can charge it.

Same goes for our household in Whitfield - not a communication from anyone which, given that it mirrors my voting intentions, makes me wonder if these political parties are more astute than I tend to give them credit for.

I’ve changed my mind. I’ve decided that I shall apply the same enthusiasm towards voting tomorrow as all the candidates have displayed by their totally non-existent efforts to obtain my vote, and abstain.

If Bob the local Tories don't want your support as they wrote to you
Must be something in it
But also it's rather strange for an ex party to write the ex member to say we don't want your support
Jan
In this area we haven't received any leaflets !!
That really is taking people for granted

I think that email to Bob just shows how insular, as well as ineffectual to local needs, the local Tory hierarchy have become.
Out of interest has anyone on here seen or heard anything about the PCC lot apart from Pablo, I know I have not.

In which case a laughing emoji would have helped and it also proves anything you post in future is possibly a lie...sorry joke.

It could be worse - you might be living in Blackburn. Curiously symbolic of the current national political climate.
