Well, here's the whole listing of the runners and riders and what a depressing read!
https://www.kent.gov.uk/about-the-council/how-the-council-works/kent-county-council-elections/election-notices/dover#tab-3
All of the usual suspects (surely two terms on the gravy train should have topped up their pension pot by now?), a few blasts from the past rebadged and a welcome to the Workers Party of Britain (LEADER: 'Gorgeous' George Galloway)!
This really is the closest I've come to not bothering to vote.

If I had to go out of my home to vote I definitely would not make even a minimal effort but as I have a postal vote I may not bother to hunt out my pen.
As for those who hide their address, they make me wonder what have they got to hide, so I certainly would not vote for any of them.

I agree Jan on the hiding addresses
That's usually because as iv said they live 8 miles away.
Local people deserve better
But we are likely to end up with the same
With apathy being the winner again

Keith your comment about Conservative candidate from Deal standing in Dover is matched by Labour candidate from Dover standing in Deal. DDC member for Aycliffe I believe.

And Tory clkrs moved deal to sT Margaret's
And castle to Whitfield in case they lost
But I'm level headed in saying good luck to all candidates not including the rejected labour candidate in st rads

Cheeky buggers.
Just had an e-mail from local Conservatives asking me not to display a poster in my window for the KCC elections as I'm the 'sort of person who reminds people why they dislike the Tories'!

#109, Bob, suggest you display a Green Party poster and send a picture of it in your window to the Tories.

Interesting that the local conservatives hold that view
Yet when Mr Watkins held the office he took little or no action against our Bob as a conservative deciding he's ok.
So there's been a thought change , or maybe they waited for our Paul to be less active before sending out such a letter .
Best bet is to vote against the two major parties shake them up a bit
Will be interesting to see if the national parties has any affect on the results locally
Certainly Hartlepool us looking grim for Labour

OR it could be a self-deprecating comment with no basis of fact made 'local' for comedic effect and shamelessly stolen from Melissa Kite's column in last week's Speccie?
