I see from today's Guardian front page that Labour are to commit £22bn for carbon capture and storage. This has got to be the whizzo-est idea I've heard in a long time: take the nuisance of a £22bn black hole and stuff carbon into it. Synergy in action, bravo!

Amazing how that 'black hole' keeps appearing when Labour wants to do something that is unpopular but disappears when they choose to spend money on dubious eco plans or much higher wages for those already with a good income.
With the above and their freebies this lot are no better than their predecessors. Just helping their pals and spending our tax money, probably increasing that 'black hole' they keep on blaming.

This latest scheme will be another HS2 - a bottomless pit soaking up money without any end. Sadly until China, India etc are on board with the emissions train we’re just wasting money. I’m sure this view won’t be popular but it’s costing ordinary people a lot of money with nothing to see for it. The cost of fuel is dreadful and made even more unpalatable by the VAT. The climate change protests usually involve people who have good incomes and are largely shielded from poverty.

In all honesty, I don't understand the arguments on green energy well enough to comment.

Well I guess Starmer may well find himself in the history books as the PM who gave away the last of the British Empire, watch out if you live in any of the island territories.
He’s beginning to really scare me …..

Ah, the Chagos Islands. Is this a mistake? Of course not. The right wing usual suspects had probably not even heard of it until Saturday lunchtime.
However, there is still an issue that they didn't seem well prepared/briefed in advance to back cover that the Falklands are a millions miles away (ideologically and geographically). They've let the narrative build that we are giving away Overseas Territories, and of course we are not. The Daily Mail doesn't for one minute think that the Falkland Islands are under threat - but they've been given the opportunity to pretend that they do.

This is where mouthy Rayner and her sixth form politics comments leads - a loss of £1billion investment.
Very brave 'speaking truth to power' - but doesn't seem so clever as power tells you to sod off, much as the Chinese will do next week if Lammy brings up the Uyghurs (though I note the Chinese don't seem to have the problem of Mohammedans getting all stabby or blowing public transport or concerts up)

With Lammy as Foreign Secretary and 'Beaker' Milliband turning out the lights, the rest of the world must be laughing.
Elgin Marbles to Greece next I reckon which 'obviously' the country wants otherwise we wouldn't have given them a huge (but very shallow) majority.

I'm not sure what Bob is saying here?
Is he ok with with P and O dealing with the staff the way they did?
Labour (or any other political party)
Shouldn't be critical of them ?
