Yup. After Starmer went grovelling to them.
A bit silly holding an 'investment summit' just before a budget IMHO but there you go.

So they're desperate to invite a company which sacked its employees by Zoom.
They’re happy to invite the Saudis, who authorised the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.
Yet they refuse to invite Elon Musk owner of Tesla, Space X and Twitter because he believes in free speech and the American Constitution)?
Student union politics mixed with hypocrisy. Pathetic.
(The First Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the freedom of speech, press, and religion, and
prevents the government from making laws that would restrict these freedoms).

That MP is no better than the average thug, even if there was provocation it does not justify that kind of prolonged reaction.
On a different subject I see that Labour are as careful with their words as the last lot. Speedy NHS appointments are not the same as actual time reduced specialist treatment.

Have a day out in Deal - if you can still afford the bus fare.
(Unable to attend myself as it's the local hunt's opening Meet. Posh totty in tight jodphurs.

)
I do wish Mike would stop calling me 'John'!

Apparently Ms Reeves is moonlighting in Oliver.
Ah well, you've got to pick a pocket or two.

It will be interesting to follow the Archers storyline post budget.
I foresee a fire sale at Grange Farm as the 100 acre field is turned into social housing for migrants as the rest of the farm is covered in solar panels in pursuance of the mythical net-Zero.

Archers? Fire? One wonders whether Grace Archer (who died two days after I was born) would've felt betrayed by the Inheritance Tax relief cap. In real life I do think provision should be made for the agricultural sector, though I'm surprised that farms are the assets of natural persons (people) and not legal ones (companies and the like).

The buzz word I am absolutely fed up hearing from Labour MPs etc is "workers" when what they mean those on very low income. A worker is someone who does work be they highly paid company director or minimum pay skivvy.

If you do it because they pay you it's work.
It helps if you convince yourself you 'enjoy' your job purely for your mental health as the prospect of doing the same tomorrow or next week or next year is far too depressing to contemplate.
I have never done a job in my life where I could not find a more pleasan use of my short time on this planet.
