I think Roger Gale often talks sense , but we do need alternatives to give us the options.
Or many will just not bother , leaving us with that lot staying in number 10

There are some very good Tory MPs out there, they just need to take back control from the madhouse, as it were. I think we'll start to see that happening in the coming months.

Neil I would dearly love to feel that was a possibility but all the while many MPs are trying to vie for Ministerial posts I think it’s unlikely to happen. I have great respect for Tracey Crouch, I think she’s a hardworking MP.

Tracey Crouch is indeed great, and had the good grace to reply to me when I raised the plight of Dover Athletic with her.
If you're someone like Jeremy Hunt, it must be pretty galling to see Nadine Dorries occupying a Cabinet post. And you know she's only there out of blind loyalty to Johnson and to be relied upon to spout the stuff nobody else wants to be associated with. I think the change will come from the Covid Recovery Group - you have Steve Baker, William Wragg and Mark Harper. I don't believe they'll just sit back and accept what comes their way.

So yes labour will gain
But do will the small parties

Unsurprisingly: "Boris Johnson has delivered Brexit, the vaccine, got us out of Covid first, led the way in backing Ukraine and is providing unparalleled support to tackle the cost of living crisis.
Boris Johnson delivers for the British people, time & again. Tonight, I will be backing Boris. "
But will you love me tomorrow?

The woman is completely delusional but it's a secret ballot, so who knows? If you call a 4% drop in GDP, 178,000 dead, the highest taxes for 40 years and the worst inflation rate in the GDP delivering for the British people then I suppose you might believe anything.

She will vote whichever way she thinks will provide promotion or a media picture.

Anyone who thinks our MP is considering her constituents is delusional- she only has one consideration- herself and her own political career!

Just seen Natalie Elphicke on BBC South East and she's representing her constituents who have apparently told her Boris is doing a good job and will vote for him.
I guess she hasn't had the chance (or bothered) to read my email yet

I’d love to hear from the constituents with whom she’s spoken to form this opinion! Certainly hasn’t been visible where I live!

Sir Graham Brady, chair of the Conservative 1922 Committee, says 359 votes were cast. There were no spoilt ballots.
Confidence in Boris Johnson: 211
No confidence in Johnson: 148
That means more than 40% of Tory MPs voted against Johnson.
Thank you, Natalie. You've done your constituents proud!

For Ray: Look on the bright side - Remain wins the day for once!
From the BBC for WGS: "Every single Conservative MP voted". (The married ones were obeying a 3-line whip to stay at home and help put the children to bed, I assume.)

Remain has always won the day. It's just a matter of how long it takes to sink in.

It's sad when our MP and 210 others voted for Boris
He's walking wounded now
The two bye elections likely to lose one if not both
This will drip,drip on
Damaging the conservative party, worse though the country

I suppose we can hope that when Boris is eventually forced out she’ll have shot herself in the foot by being so vocal in her support of the PM.

But in the meantime, a chance for Aycliffe to be levelled-up?

A very good point. Does Natalie ever ask for anything in return for her unwavering support? I mean like levelling up funds, not some tinpot PPS job.

I attended a meeting for Town and Parishes last night and I asked what was being done for the residents of Aycliffe- bearing in mind that one item on the agenda was concerned with noise and the effects on people. Of course they made all the right noises but apparently one of the reasons for not moving it back is to do with capacity to stack lorries. Another consideration had been about building in another roundabout at Samphire Hoe. I’m sure no one will take much notice of my question but I felt it important to raise it whist there was a decent audience. Additionally I wanted to show my support of all those at Aycliffe who have been working so hard. What is our MP doing to support them?
