2020 labour would have inherited over 3 million east Europeans votes after exit . Coupled this with a diminished UKIP doing less damage to the labour vote?
We could see labour MP voting to stop an early election?

Labour can't lose here, in my view. One of two things will happen; they either completely crash and burn, in which case they can finally rid themselves of Corbyn and his fan club and start the rebuild, or, they actually surprise everyone and do rather well, which amazingly would mean they are on the right track. Either of those options has to be better than the current state of affairs.
Having said this, I take your point Keith that Labour MPs with a narrowly defined self interest may just want to protect their own constituency position than worry about the bigger picture.

I always thought most MPs of all parties put their self interest first and only took local interests into account if they thought they might loose.
With regard to Corbyn and Sturgeon neither are living in the real world and are a pain in the rear end.

If Corbyn was capable of rational thinking he could simply instruct his MPs to vote against the motion tomorrow. If asked why he has changed his mind he can simply point out that the PM had said the opposite every time up until a week or so ago and had now decided that electoral gain was more important than keeping her word and that he was now following suit.
Doubt that will happen and I am pinning my hopes on a lot of phone calls being made this evening and overnight between Labour MPs that still have their sanity or at least a survival instinct to cause a rebellion. The biggest loser would be Mrs May who is unlikely to have such an unassailable lead again and will grow edgier close to 2020 as any new leader would be more of a threat than Jezza.

Michael Crick, Channel 4, is coming out with some interesting stuff. It was expected the CPS were to announce in the coming days that up to 30 Tory MPs were getting prosecuted for election fraud relating to finances in the 2015 General Election. The deadline for this is the beginning of June. (In effect causing the resignation and bye elections of these 30 Tory MPs in mostly swing constituencies.)
With the announcement of a new GE this has put the CPS in a difficult position and its now likely they will have to say it's no longer in the public interest.
If you are a Tory it's better to have a GE than 30 by elections in seats where the current MP sitting on a small majority has had to resign after being arrested.

Well so much has passed since I was last here.
I have to say I was surprized Cameron didn't go for an early election before stating the fixed terms(which T May has overturned)
Without doubt The conservatives will win with a far bigger majority.
Post 4 is strange I don't believe in many policies of UKIP and wonder why the poster would even think I would go with them.
Being a labour person for 30 years once I decided to go 7 years ago that was my lot I would never stand for another national party it was quite a soul search for me to stand against them on town council had they listened I wouldn't have done.
but we are where we are.
Labour is in turmoil at the moment and cant make its mind up which direction to go.
Labour is unlikely to make many gains in Scotland and wont make many gains across the country they are likely to just hold on to what they have or with a slightly reduced number of seats
labour is lucky UKIP has fallen apart.
Although Charlie boy is likely to be in place for at least 2 general elections I just hope labour finds a candidate able to build its vote up
They don't seem to have any front runners at the moment

Paul it appears from past comments he's blotted his copy book vocal against UKIP leadership and party lost its way and funding.
I don't know this Mr Stokes but he certainly has a lot of work to do
UKIP at last general election was on crest of a wave, this has long gone, people seen through them, internal local differences not helped them.
Finances nationally withdrawn
