A special presentation invited a group of young people from the Tower Hamlets ward in Dover to take a pace forward last Monday (24 August) - when they were invited to DDC offices to be presented with their National Open College Network certificates for 'Taking Part In Sport'.

Officers from UK Border Agency seized approximately two million cigarettes on Sunday 30th August at Dover. The revenue lost to the UK Government was estimated to be £380,000.

A 44 year old Scottish self employed plumber has been jailed for 11 years after being convicted of smuggling three kilos of cocaine into the UK through Dover. The drugs had an estimated street value of £120,000.

50 year old Stephen Walford from Basildon in Essex has been jailed for 10 years by Canterbury Crown Court today after attempting to smuggle 10kg of cocaine into the UK through the Port of Dover.

A Serbian lorry driver from Belgrade is due to appear in court today after being questioned by investigators from HM Revenue & Customs in connection with the seizure of approximately 30 kilos of cocaine worth about £1.2 million at Dover's Eastern Docks.
