A 45 year-old man has been jailed for six years after pleading guilty to smuggling cocaine into the UK through Dover.
Dover to Folkestone railway expected to reopen in December

Dover District Council has welcomed today's announcement by Network Rail that it is to invest £44.5 million to rebuild the sea wall and rail line from Dover to Folkestone, which is hoped to open again to trains in December. Work to protect the existing structure and cliffs has been underway since the start of the year and preliminary construction on the 235m-long viaduct started last week.

Next phase of works begins in St James area

The next phase of works for the redevelopment of the St James area of Dover is underway following completion of the demolition and main archaeological investigations on the eight acre site. Earthworks and utility diversions are currently taking place across the site which is being developed to provide 120,000 sq. ft. of new retail and leisure space in the heart of the town centre.

Buoys marking works exclusion zone signal start of DWDR construction works

The Prince of Wales Pier and the former Hoverport now form part of the construction area for the Dover Western Docks Revival (DWDR), with work planned to commence on 9th May to reduce the height of the Pier. In order to safely complete this work it will be necessary to implement a marine exclusion zone of 50 metres away from the Prince of Wales Pier.
