Five charities have each received a cash boost from the Kent Police Property Fund. The money, which comes from the sale of items that have been seized during police operations, was given to the good causes at a presentation held on Friday 8 July.

Dover Cruise Port, the UK's second most popular cruise port, was today graced by three magnificent cruise ships taking it to its full capacity - Saga Cruises 'Saga Sapphire', Seabourn 'Seabourn Quest' and the Plantours & Partner 'MV Hamburg'. With them came approximately 2,400 passengers to sample the pleasures of Destination Dover and wider Kent.

Dover District Council is welcoming news that its CCTV system has been successful in meeting a national code of practice, set up to ensure people can have confidence that surveillance cameras are used to protect and support them.

Dover Harbour Board has announced the achievement of the Carbon Trust Standard for Carbon Award for the fourth time after accomplishing a 17.2% absolute reduction in the Port of Dover carbon footprint.

A firm in Deal has been awarded a contract to carry out a range of repair and painting works in the district, including refurbishment of the Victorian tram shelter on Folkestone Road, the Dover Museum frontage, and three beach shelters on Deal Seafront.

Dover District Council has welcomed today's news that the Dover to Folkestone rail line will re-open on Monday, 5 September, three months ahead of schedule. The line has been out of action since Christmas Eve 2015 following storm damage to the sea wall at Shakespeare Cliff.
