They had a certain way about them. Where has Graham gone? I think he & his other Dover Locals pseuds were an entertaining but acquired taste.

I think Graham has just stepped back out of the limelight but there are still one or two other Dover Locals posters on here - in their own names or pseudonyms if you know what to look for!

Graham posts under his real name on "Dover Express" Site, assuming that is his real name, doubt if he knows himself sometimes and as GM55 on Kent Online.
Getting back to the new dynamic centre I have asked around without getting answer so I shall consult the oracle.
Who is financing it Paul and how many used onecers are available?

Does it really matter who was on Dover Locals and now posts on here. I wish all of them had switched over to here, the more the merrier, it would possibly make this an even more interesting forum.

The funding options are part of the ongoing decision process. There are allocations made in the Medium Term Financial Plan, it goes together with Council Tax setting decisions which will be before Scrutiny tomorrow evening & formally set in early March.
The amount spent will be decided by options set for project.
What you 'll find is the two major capital projects are Dover Leisure/refurbishment/relocation & the Dover Town Hall project.

Translated into English does that mean Council Tax and/or outside money Paul?

Not necessarily Howard. Could be a mix including Sports Council funding.

Thanks Paul I can now award you the John Heron award for speaking a language closest to English in Post 69.
On the other subject I am convinced that Max Headroom from "Locals" was Sue Nicholas all the time.

Glad to recognise I have not lost the touch Howard. The easy way to say it was costs won't be known until a site has been decided on , the facilities in the scheme are identified & priced.
Has Max been resting Brian?

Paul, how will you be selling this to Deal and Sandwich council tax payers who already have leisure centres or are they closing to make way for the Whitfield centre?

Sandwich is not a DDC leisure facility. Tides complex has a different pool offer. It also has an Indoor tennis facility serving the area & a multipurpose sports hall. They are complementary to District's Leisure offer. This is District wide consultation for a replacement to the Dover Leisure Centre. Whilst primarily Dover centric, it has the potential to offer other activities -see Consultation document- which all the District can access. It configured properly & using updated energy features there will be savings on the pool element.

Paul, do you think there is any chance that we could get the 50mtre pool that many have asked for, it would bring so much needed money into the whole district.

One thing to consider about that is where is the nearest 50m pool, does anyone know?

Frankly I don't know Jan at this stage. It will be down to the costs not the delivered aspiration. It's not ruled out.
