You seem to suggest you know Vic? You can tell us, you're amongst friends, we won't tell anyone

Aparently DDC have gone out to public consultation to ask Dovorians what they would actually like there. In no particular order the top 5 answers were.
1. A ferris wheel a bit like the London Eye as this would be a great tourist attraction and bring hundreds to Dover.
2. An Ice Skating rink. There's none nearby and obviously it would bring hundreds to Dover.
3. A department store. This would stop people buying on-line as they could chose from up to five sorts of toaster and at least three televisions as well as a number of white goods. Obviously it would bring hundreds to Dover.
4. A conference centre. There is none locally and many businesses and even Political Parties would prefer to meet in Dover rather than enjoying the hotels, rail connections, nightlife etc offered by other conference centres. Obviously it would bring hundreds to Dover.
5. A theatre. There are many local groups who could use a much needed theatre as well as one which would attract international acts. Obviously it would bring hundreds to Dover.
Surely we can rely on the people of Dover to know what they want?

Obviously. Or Tesco Express. KFC. High mark up. Quick service. Large throughput. Low investment.
Not bad for a land swap for a bit of a field up Whitfield eh?

Well I've just had another evening walk past the site and all the cars have gone! The floodlights are still there, along with a few Practical hire vans but the site is pretty much empty, so no idea what's going on! Very strange to go from packed last night to virtually empty tonight? Maybe it was an initial McDonalds team meeting prior to building!

Rumour has it that the site was being used temporarily to faciltate a film shoot that was taking place elsewhere in Dover. I have no idea if this is true.

If the rest of the area is anything to go by the site will be an eyesore for years until we get something that is not generally wanted.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Excellent news that at least somebody knows what's going on.
The rest of us are speculating 'more than a land agent at a masonic meeting' as they say!
Grateful if you could keep the rest of us in the loop Vic.
