Outside the town centre, I noticed that the ex-estate agents next to DP Lead in Kearsney is now the Kearsney Convenience Store.

I thought there was a convenience store just along from them to the other side of the London Road, can't be enough business for two of them.

The empty unit between Domino's and Macari's in Pencester Road has a notice in the window to say that an application has gone in for it to be a convenience store.
Meanwhile the new "Londis" store in the Folkestone Rd is now open for business.

Ladbrokes and Corals are going to merge I think. That could mean some closures.

There are far far too many betting shops considering that internet betting has risen dramatically over the past few years. the vast majority of profits come from the highly addictive fixed odds that line the inside. I think these will be banned eventually so no need of so many high street outlets.

Some thing to do with the lease on their current shop .I think from a business point of view more footfall when the DTIZ is completed .Years ago Market Square was the hub.

Certainly won't get the current footfall in their new location, DTIZ is a long way from completion. I was told that Rooks own the freehold on the new premises.

Noticed this morning that the unit on the ground floor of 83 High St has a sign to the effect that Dover auctions rooms are moving in soon I think they are in the old post office building at the moment.
