They must have lowered the rent by quite a lot to make it appealing to a new retailer.

Rather a depressing sight to see four shops in a row vacant and looking run down.

Agreed Howard and the empty planter does not exactly help to improve the depressing vista.

Good point about the planter Jan, usually the French lady looks after them with bulbs and plants supplied by DDC. Hopefully by Summer all planters will be flowering again.

The planters are due to be replanted for summer shortly, it would help if Dovers dregs didn't keep ripping them out on a Friday and Saturday night, but sadly that won't change anytime soon!

Went past Rook's earlier and is back as "To Let" there was a chap inside using a mobile phone wearing a butcher's apron.

No the old Rook's shop and a rumour going around is that a business called Taylor's meats will be opening there.

Rooks will be most put out with the new butcher getting by far the best footfall.

Serves Rooks right after all they chose to move to a quiet area of town. I certainly hope the rumours are correct.

This display has been in the old "Internacionale" shop for a while, I don't know who is responsible or what message they are trying to get across.

I think the display was the result of an Easter or Feb half term workshop that was in the Internacionale store, i wish our councils would do similar works in all the empty store windows.
Maybe give a window to each primary school to decorate or each secondary school art department, no school ever has enough room to display all their accumulated art.
None of it is rocket science but none of our elected bodies seem interested or bothered.

Can't blame the Councils on this Reg, the Town team have decorated some shops but most landlords will not give them permission to decorate.
