Yes Stu, it was actually a sex shop owned at one time by a current DDC Councillor!

Store 21 is slowly filling up now, homeware stuff is the same as before so maybe the new owners bought up stock at auction.

Went through the Charlton Centre a few days back which I hadn't done for a few months as it seemed on its last legs but I was surprised to see most units taken and attractive displays. Some of the businesses had relocated from other outlets so maybe good rent deals are being offered to move in.

Greggs won't be able to once MacD closes today, they struggle most lunch times as it is. The shop is too small to have tables and chairs taking up room and although the staff are run off their feet there is not enough space behind the counter for more people.

Yet another article telling us that Next are having problems mainly due to too much floor space, hopefully this will not affect their participation in the St James development. The article goes on to say that people nowadays buy footwear and furniture online. Shoes are one thing I would never buy that way as it vital to know they are comfortable before leaving the shop, similarly most people would like to see their new furniture in the flesh and also to sit on beds and chairs before buying.

I buy my Hotter shoes on line but only because I know their sizing fit me perfectly.

Home sweet home the traditional confectionery shop in the High Street has announced it will be closing for good at the end of the month.

When you go through the subway from the Market Square toward the seafront, as you come up to street level there is an arched sign facing the sea. It says Town Centre. They should consider turning it around, so it reads Town Centre when you come out, not in! Sadly, it looks like that's going to be the busy area......

I don't know who designed that sign but they clearly had no knowledge of 20th century history, most people associate it with "Arbeit Macht Frei".

Store 21 still has the letting agent's sign outside so maybe this is a short term tenancy, they only take cash - no cards.

Unless i read it wrong while driving home this evening, the new funeral directors has a big sign up offering a cremation for only £795.Sounds like a real bargain.

Lewis is being a bit picky here, if he does an advance booking there is a free urn thrown in so the bonus would be that he ends up on his own mantelpiece.
