Both Dover Town KCC seats and both Deal KCC seats GAINED by Conservatives!
Unable to find illustration of large red gravy train hitting buffers.
Looks like only hope of Labour Party winning General Election is if Diane Abbott counts the votes!

I see they are doing a special screening of 'Night of The Living Dead' at the Maison Dieu.

Not for the first time local elections are decided by national consideration(in this case Corbyn) and good Councillors get voted out despite doing a good job.

This certainly was NOT the case in Deal.

A clean sweep for the Conservatives in Dover & Deal as expected, no doubt much head scratching at Labour locally and nationally. Blaming Corbyn is simplistic, the Labour Party have lost all sense of direction.
Well done Anne Napier, I don't know her but I know her husband Stuart who hasn't been too well, I wish her well.

fair to say a disaster for lab but clearly Corbyn has caused some of this also a very divided party they will need to do a lot of soul searching over the coming months I share the view that ukip made a difference on the referendum but since then have in many cases been wiped out where they could have built a permanent platform shame really I do feel sorry for g cowan who was out day and night for 4 weeks but boundary changes has hampered any chance of lab winning these seats of course turn outside of 27% not helped either the may will be laughing onwards to June 8th

I can't comment on Deal but in Dover Gordon successfully saved the local bus service which is a lifeline to the elderly and infirm, led the campaign to get street lights switched back on and converted to much cheaper LED and also was heavily involved in saving local sure start services. I contacted his successor Nigel three times on different issues when he was at Maidstone and didn't get a reply to any of them.

that's the issue we face now howard we had an accountable public transport liaison committee that met with transport operators calling them to account number collor abolished the committee thus shows where we are heading on accountability like u say in dover gordon worked tirelessly for the ward it's unhealthy for kcc to have such a big majority but over next 4 years the problems will come. fast on the deal seats all I can say is I have never been a Fan of eddy who is I feel a control freak I have many differences of opinion from him and although I wouldn't want a conservative elected the 2 deal ex lab cllrs will be no loss 8n fact the party wall need to re build now

Well I for one feel Dover has lost two good Councillors.Keith we well recall that committee which Cllr Collor got rid of .He then said we had to put everything to him and he never did anything .Ecuses all the time.I by passed him the end and spoke to someone who helped He was against the soup kitchen . a sad day as you need some opposition .They will be puppets for Paul Carter.
Just Hope my bus service is safe .

That is a surprise and just shows how unpopular Labour are at the moment.

If most of these people have become unelected.
Surely, they should not remain in the Dover Town Council.

They are quite entitled to be there as DTC is a completely different council, I am surprised you did not know this going by the number of times you post about the council.
