nominations closed yesterday at noon.
i was going to say high noon, but i feel sure that no cowboys will be standing in this election.
we know that man of the people victor is standing, will he be unapposed?
I cannot somehow see Vic being un-opposed in the election Howard.
I am sure we shall all know in good time who the candidates will be .

I last heard that there were six candidates but only know, so far, that there is one each from Labour, Conservatives and the Dover Alliance (who held the seat until Paul Verrill's illhealth forced his resignation) plus the inevitable Vic Matcham. Heard rumours on the other two but will not know until DDC release the full list.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

YES I am ready for the Election again I say to the voters of St Radigund,s and the Cllrs on the River council vote for the person not the party if you think he or she is the best one for your ward vote that way not along party lines also think in the case of St Radigunds, what a town cllr can and can not do, if any of the candidates and as you know I am one of them, say they can to this and that see before you vote for them is it in the make up of the Town council.
All I will say is that if I get in I will work for the ward in anyway I can ,and you would see alot of me in the Parish as I have done in the years gone bye.
I remain your faithfully Vic Matcham

Howard. Yes Paul did move out of the area but this was because of a combination of ill-health and personal matters.

I had a leaflet in my door last night from one of the candidates. Most unusual, he normally sends more solid missiles through my windows!

Why all the secrecy about who is standing or not, surely at this stage in the proceedings it dosen't matter if we know who they all are, would'nt it be a benefit for all
Anyway's good luck to all the candidates especially our two forumites Vic and Mandie
I guess I will wait patiently for DDC's full official list.

I agree - it does seem rather daft if there is secrecy at this stage. I had a quick look on the DTC website, to see if there was anything there about who's standing. Couldn't find anything.

Until Democratic Services at DDC announce the final list nothing is official. After registering to stand candidates do have a time period in which to change their minds and withdraw, until then nothing can be confirmed.

Hi Maggie, Andy here - hope you are well.
On a different note, can we have a chat this week or early next regarding the Dover War Memorial Project. I'd like to write a piece on it in the run-up to the 90th anniversary of the end of World War 1.
I have your mobile number: will call or text to arrange a phone interview.
All the best,
Andy

Ok. So far it can be said that you have:-
Ray White - Dover Alliance
Mandi Sehmbi - Conservative
Viv Revell - labour
Vic Matcham - Whatever
and possibly two others who still have time to pull out.
