I understand that UKIP will not be standing.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Chris PRELIOUS.
I am a true Independent not like the D/ Alliance as your leader told me a few weeks ago he is trying to do is get the reds out even if they are working for the good of the Town and I think most of them not all are doing just that, And I would like to be there again helping to do what I can, and will work alongside them again as before.

Unelected John? I though you got in. And who on earth is this Chris PRELIOUS?

It's starting to look and sound like that old Cher song Gypsies Tramps and Thieves, As long as they come from St Rad's and have the community at heart they get my vote. If they come from the area regardless of party or lack of it, they know what we have to put up with first hand not hearsay, they know who are the trouble maker's and who are not, and get something done about them, and also get things done that the resident's want not what they think we want.

Ah, Chris, you seem to have missed out the neighbour from hell in your list.
On a seperate issue, are candidates vetted at all as their background? I see from the DDC website they are "interviewed" after handing their papers in. Anyone know what that involves?

you have made a very important statement there.
they must live or work in the area that they represent.
the labour candidate that stands in your area is probably well qualified to represent you, unfortunately she represents my area at a higher level.
mention the name to anyone around here you get a blank look.
i know nothing of the other candidates though.

Ray White is a St. Radigunds man who has raised a family there. He is very well aware of the areas problems and is standing precisely because he wants to see something done for them. He has no party ambitions, just wants to do his best for the area he lives in. Further details will be found on his campaign leaflets (as I am sure will be the party manifestos and wish lists of the other candidates when they go around).

The full list for the St. Radigunds by election for Town Council is (in no particular order)
Ray White - Dover Alliance
Mandi Sehmbi - Conservative
Dean Stiles - Liberal Democrat
Tony Ovenden - No Description
Viv Revell - Labour
Vic Matcham - Independent
End of text.

Howard, you mention my name to most people in Tower Hamlets and you would probably get the same response, most people don't care who their District Councillor is let alone thier Town Councillor is,yet after this weeks newspapers you might think I have gone on a Profile Campaign,it is funny how things happen all of a sudden and then nothing for months.

I have to say I was\surprized if its correct that you are standing for a poltical party, more so because when we had that coffee(and cream) all those months ago you were so against most politicuians and political parties.
I presume if it is correct you havehad a complete change of heart, and now have changed opinions of political parties?
Fistrly though is it correct your standing
if it is, why this sudden change of heart?
Keith Keith Keith. Let me be straight here. Never did I say I was against politicians or political parties.
What I actually said was that I did not care if the political person was Red,Blue,Green or whatever as long as they did the right thing, and in the interests of Dover, so there has been NO change of heart on that front at all.
I still stand by that statement.
Please do not try and manipulate what I said that day keith. I had you down as a better person than that.
Secondly yes it is true that I shall be standing. WHY NOT???
I love Dover and will fight for it, and the people in it.
Perhaps the labour party are worried that now this election won't be plain sailing for them.
yes I am new to it all and have a lot to learn, but one thing I will guarantee is that if I were to get elected I would give 110% to the job for the people of not only St Radigunds but all of Dover.

Not wanting to argue you have now made a clear statement to be with a political party.
Thats all I was saying, certainly not trying to twist something.
Although im a labour member im no longer active
but im sure the labour candidate will win
but the electorate will decide and with 6 candidates thats healthy.
I look forward to the count.

You know my political leanings and I have sent you an email wishing you all the best for your forthcoming campaign.
I will say this though that if you work as hard for St Radigunds and are as half as successful as you are with running the Dover Carnival Court then you will be extremely good for St Rads,Dover and the council
(God Help 'em)
Best of luck girl.
