00:008150Too expensive to use the Town Hall for one by election, probably Biggin Hall or somewhere similar.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

08:128155Cheaper option would be to hire my garden shed. It's only two black boxes and about 80 bits of paper after all.

09:548164I thought I would be a smart *** so looked up the DDC web site yes the candidates names were listed but no where could i find where the count will take place .Usually for by election ie when we had one in River the count was held in our village Hall so i wonder if the count will take plase at Barton school or the Town Council Offices?I would have thought a candidate would make sure they found out before the day ,still perhaps im being rather silly as that is what I would do ?

20:488208I'd sell you mine Howard but you would need to shave the top of your head and stick it all on the back, they have names on them.

14:398326I would have thought it would make more sense, and save money, to use one of the polling stations.

15:208332Its more technical these days .Electrontic counting etc.Only the candidates and agents will really be interested hardly a general .Who ever gets elected will not make much difference as the reds have the majority, any way party politics should not come into it at this level.

10:418360I remember that Howard - Keith, Marian and myself worked hard on that and delivered leaflets about it all over the Clarendon area and roads and as you say, a very tiny percentage responded, so nothing could be done.
Is it a large number who want a one-way system, or just a vocal few ?
Has anyone spoke to the Highways dept about the consequences of a one-way system ? the benefits and disadvantages of such a system ?
If a one-way is set-up, there is teh danger of cars dfdribing so much faster and as children play in the streets around there, there could well be some serious accidents.
I'm not saying it shouldn't go ahead at all, but it really does need talking to the experts about it.

11:048363agreed roger, there should be some expert guidance on this.
the yellow lines at the top of clarendon street are just decoration, no enforcement, thereby causing major problems for buses and delivery vehicles.
eventually an emergency vehicle will be unable to get through, maybe then something will happen.
