It is really unfortunate we find ourselves here
Although our Naterlie wasn't expected to come to any other conclusion.
She has let locals down
Which hopefully will be remembered

Indeed, Jan. Merely lobby fodder.

I am not sure she is useless or incompetent, she wouldn't have achieved the positions she has if she was.
I do think she is not that interested in the day to day grind of politics and that has made her lazy.
So, rather than think about the issues it is quicker and easier to trot out the party line or get one of her (pretty average and sycophantic) assistants to write some trite nonsense that vaguely addresses the matter at hand whilst reflecting the latest dictat from No10

I think at the time of her selection and the scandal of the predator , they had to move someone in quick.
She was probably a fair pair of hands , one unlikely to rock the boat , but also pick u sympathy votes .
A good strong candidate from other partirs against her at this time would be interesting

The mood seems to have turned significantly overnight. I think Johnson is in real trouble here.

I agree. The only thing in doubt is the timing.

His days must definitely be numbered, as I have said before he is only PM because of the Brexit vote not necessarily because the voters wanted him to run the country.

I think the defection today has perversely given Johnson a little more time over the next couple of days - but will soon be forgotten. Still in trouble.

Things I'm not surprised by #571,631:
A dim, unprincipled, career-chasing, herd MP leaves one group of dim, unprincipled, career-chasing, herd MPs to peacock over to another group of dim, unprincipled, career-chasing, herd MPs; agglomerates former group.
(AFAIC a plague on all their houses. But, from a strategic POV, wouldn't the forensic one have done better to say 'Thanks, but No' and leave the problem with Johnson?)

"Boris Johnson says he has "seen no evidence" of blackmail in his party after claims by one of his own MPs."
That sounds very much like his no knowledge of all those parties, seen is not the same as knowing. Therefore he either does not know what is going on behind his back or he is not telling the truth ...... again.

I think D David has helped to put Boris on the line .
It's just going to take a little longer now.
Will be interesting to see if Naterlie backed the wrong horse at next general election .
And if the red Wall comes back

I think David Davis did a good job.Sometimes people need to be told .Im not a Boris fan and he needs to be reminded sometimes. That was awake up call .What ever you or I think until such time an election is called ?Any moans or. Groans are wasted .

I'm completely torn here. I know that from a Labour perspective, it is better that a wounded Johnson limps on, but my sheer dislike of him means that I'd also very much like to see the back of him.

David Davis's ministerial career effectively ended when he flounced out of the Brexit role. Most of his recent pronouncements have been laughable. 'There are no downsides to Brexit' - well that's been borne out hasn't it? Then there's the equally imbecilic notion that virus mutations are a 'biological nonsense'. If he's finally worked out what a self serving liar BoJo is, then congratulations are in order. Just a pity that it took him, and so many others, quite so long.

I don't disagree totally on your comments , the Conservative party are now just tearing itself apart,
With the latest allegations .
I thought Neil would be happy for Bungling Boris to limp on, but I really am surprised the 1922 committee hasn't stepped in .
