Dover Harbour Board has confirmed that following two berthing trials and some modifications to the ship, mv Joline, Barco de Vapor has been given permission to commence a ferry service from the Port's Eastern Docks. The first service is due tomorrow (Thursday 2 May 2013).

On the morning of the 29th July 1940 a massive German attack was launched on the Port of Dover harbour, setting a Royal Navy supply ship ablaze. A plaque has been donated to the Harbour Board in honour of the brave actions of Captain F J Hopgood that day.
