Shoppers in Dover are being reminded to keep their valuables close by following a report of a theft in the town. The theft took place in Ladywell between 4.30pm and 5.15pm on Sunday.

A knitted poppy appeal has been launched in Dover District today to help commemorate Remembrance Day. Dover District Council is working with the Royal British Legion, Dover Arts Development, and Dover Big Local/Art 31 to create a carpet of knitted or crocheted poppies, and they're inviting everyone to get out their knitting needles to support the project.

Officers who arrested a man following a reported sexual offence in Dover are appealing for further information. It was alleged that the suspect inappropriately touched a 17-year-old girl outside of her clothing when she sat with him after he claimed to have suffered a seizure.

A Merchant Navy Day Service is being held at Dover Town Hall on Friday from 10.30am, followed by a wreath laying ceremony on Dover Seafront at 12 noon.
