Police are warning people to be on their guard against distraction burglars after a woman talked her way into the homes of three pensioners. Detectives are linking the three incidents and are urging people not to be taken in by the woman.

Officers investigating distraction burglaries in east Kent have charged a woman. 28-year-old Roxzann Jeffries was arrested in Dover on Wednesday, and was subsequently charged with three burglaries and four thefts from shops.

Dover District Council has granted planning consent for a new Lidl store with 159 parking spaces on a 1.21ha site in Whitfield. The store will create 40 new jobs when it opens in late 2017.
